Akana Technologies Pvt Ltd (Akana) with corporate headquarters at Gurgaon (near South Delhi) and branches at Singapore, Dubai, Hong Kong and England has been set up with a view to provide sales and marketing avenues in India and all across the globe to APIs, Pharma intermediates, Pharma Dosage Forms (Pharma Finished Formulations), Excipients & Essential Oils manufacturers.

Akana acts as a bridge between the manufacturers of the above categories of products and their users in pharmaceuticals and food industries.

Management

The main promoter of Akana is Mr. Ashok Mittra who has a vast knowledge of pharmaceutical industry all across the world. Mr. Ashok Mittra is an M.Sc in Chemistry from University of Delhi with over four decades of experience in leading global pharmaceutical companies. Until the year 2000 Mr. Ashok Mittra was the Global Marketing Director for APIs in erstwhile Ranbaxy Laboratories Limited followed by (till 2018) as Group CEO of Whyte Group Limited based at their corporate head office in London in the U.K.

While at the Whyte Group in the U.K, Mr. Ashok Mittra had additional responsibility of the Group’s joint venture in China (Shanghai) for manufacturing oral cephalosporin APIs. Widely travelled around the world, Mr. Ashok Mittra has excellent personal relations with the decision makers in pharmaceutical industry all around the world.

Mr Ashok Mittra is the lead coordinator for business development for Akana’s clients all around the globe.

Business Model

Akana represents APIs, Pharma intermediates, Pharma Dosage Forms, Excipients and Essential Oil manufacturers in India, China and other countries for sales all cross the world including exports.

The business model generally followed is that Akana facilitates getting orders from the customer in India and overseas in the name of the manufacturers who directly supply, in majority of cases, to the customer(s) at their destination. In return, Akana gets a pre-fixed service charge from the seller.

The above model is preferred as it maintains transparency between the buyer and seller as the seller always knows the price at which the buyer has been supplied.
